Every year our team participates in the Run, Walk, Roll for Brain Injury event to celebrate the life of Jim "Smitty" Smith. The proceeds from this event benefit the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania as well as Camp Cranium, a overnight summer camp for children that have experienced a traumatic brain injury.
In 2017, just before Christmas, Smitty had a simple fall that resulted in a Traumatic Brain Injury, TBI. He spent a few months recovering in Neuro ICU before going to a rehab facility then being transferred to a facility that his family asked him to strive for, our ultimate goal. Shortly after that transfer he passed from the challenges that he faced from his injury. We are forever appreciative to the medical professionals that dedicated their time and expertise to provide Smitty with the care he needed during his recovery.
Thank you to those that surrounded Smitty after his injury, supported us during the journey and still continue to honor and celebrate his life.
Your support of the Run, Walk, Roll for Brain Injury will support Camp Cranium's inclusive programs for children with brain injuries and the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania's prevention activities, such as Brain Safety Fairs.
