10 Years... What were you doing in August 2012?  Not the intense rehab - Physical, Occupational, Speech and Psycotherapy that I was doing.  I went from working in a big corporation to the difficult work of rebuilding myself.  I went from enjoying holiday luncheons with colleagues I had known for years to spending my holiday lunch with the doctors, nurses, and support staff at the Moss Rehab, Elkins Park cafeteria. It all happened in a flash.

My new job started immediately after my fall, the fall which resulted in a life-changing moderate Traumatic Brain Injury.  I was often sad then and for many years at how much I had lost.  But today, we are walking to celebrate how much I was able to get back and still retain through hard work and the support of many family and friends.

After 10 years of living with this different ability every day, please know that it impacts every decision everyday.  There is still so much more work to do, so much more of the changed me to discover and to learn about.  There are so many new challenges about how to adapt and accomodate my different abiities into everyday life.  And just like every day for the past 10 years, we will take it on a little bit at a time each day.

Many of you have stood by us these 10 years and offered your support in ways both big and small.  We would not be here today without you.  Thank you.

My challenge this year is to complete the walk with my entourage - Percy the big black lab, a crazy black lab puppy named Lionel Richie, and my young children.  With a humble heart, I ask you to consider this challenge - could you pledge $10 to our campaign to celebrate my journey?

Gratefully,

Christina
